Why the FPL ?

[powr-hit-counter id=98125182_1540074691909]

A league for the semi-competitive player or the player who has a sense of proportion towards this wonderful walking game. An outlet for the competent internal session man who fancies a little bit of competitive relish on his walking football burger ! Not for the ultra-competitive win-at-all costs merchants who like to stick  a foot in here and there. This is a non-contact league where of course contact will occur – not all contact is a foul.

Please read the Manchester County F.A. Rules for Walking Football. A link will soon appear. here. They are tailored for a fair play game and our Referees know their onions:

The story so far and the men who brought this about on July 4th. (independence day for some)

steering group

Born from an original idea in the summer of 2018. Partly inspired by the addition of a brand new – and a VERY costly  surface at Curzon Ashton F.C. where some of us already play twice a week. Thought about and planned by experienced walking footballers and Referees who wanted an alternative to conventional thinking on league’s of a football nature. Where the right attitude and sportsmanship could bring additional rewards, or the lack of these attributes could be penalised by point deduction. Where winning games matters – but winning games is not absolutely everything in walking football.
